Discerment of the Spirits!

Discernment? While on my spiritual journey... I have many people ask me about my beliefs and use of words of how to discribe my gifts that come from God... First of all I have to say I am not trying to convience anyone to believe one way or the other.. My main goal in life is to help others on thier walk during this time on earth. Discriptive words such as phychic, medium, visionary, intuitive... ect.... have a strong impact when used.. Just like many other words that we use to label objects, people and situations... words like these paint a visual image in a persons mind. Over a period of time I have been researching words to best discribe how God uses the gifts He has given me to help others. Through the Spirit ... God allows me to connect, see and many times feel the pain that others are experiencing without prior knowledge of their life situation. I believe that God allows me to feel and see certain aspects of a persons life to help heal or move them along on their spiritual walk. Discernment is one way that I do this.... From time to time I would like to share information that may be helpful to others in understanding and growth on thier path and walk with God.

- Discerment of the spirits allows a person to see into the
spiritual realm, with the naked eye to "discern" what activity is taking place.
Either it is right or wrong. "Discernment of
spirits" is the term given to the judgment whereby to determine from what spirit the impulses of the soul emanate, and it is easy to understand the importance of this judgment both for
self-direction and the direction of others. Now this judgment may be formed in
two ways. In the first case the discernment is made by means of an intuitive
light which infallibly discovers the quality of the movement; it is then a gift
of God. Second, discernment of spirits may be obtained through meditation, dependence on God, and being sensitive to God’s leading. It is then not
just an acquired human knowledge; it is a spiritual gift. It is procured,
always, of course, through a right walking with God.

Kindred Spirits! =)

Kindred Spirits:

Webster's New College Dictionary defines a kindred spirit as an "individual with the same beliefs, attitudes or feelings as oneself." The term's long cultural history and relevance in how we interact with others provides us insights into our desire for love and deep connections with people. Kindred spirits are identified as having an almost otherworldly attachment to each other, with bonds that are very difficult to break.

Yet the sweet converse of an innocent mind,
Those words are images of thoughts refin'd,
Is my soul's a pleasure; and sure it must be
Almost the highest bliss of human-kind,
When to thy haunts two kindred spirits flee.

Examples of Kindred Spirits
•Several kindred spirits have dotted history books for ages; among them, Alexander the Great and Cleopatra, Charlotte and Emily Bronte, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Fictional kindred spirits include Anne and Gilbert of Anne of Green Gables, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Jim and Pam from the TV series, "The Office" and Captain James T. Kirk and Spock of "Star Trek."

INTUITION - Do you have it?

Intuition... What does it really mean? Who has it? Is it good or bad? It means a feeling of knowingness that comes from within.
According to Wikipedia: Intuition is the ability to acquire knowledge without inference or the use of reason.[1] "The word 'intuition' comes from the Latin word 'intueri', which is often roughly translated as meaning 'to look inside' or 'to contemplate'."[2] Intuition provides us with beliefs that we cannot necessarily justify. For this reason, it has been the subject of study in psychology, as well as a topic of interest in the supernatural. The "right brain" is popularly associated with intuitive processes such as aesthetic abilities.
Like I have mentioned before in previous blogs... we all have a bit of intuitiveness in us... It is the gut feeling inside that tells us when something is not quite right. Our responsibility is to allow God and His spirit to teach us to be sensitive to what is going on around us. Many times we excuse the intuitive feelings inside of us because we allow our personal emotions to take over. That is when we allow our ego to guide us instead of the spirit. There are ways to develope and deepen your intuitive awareness... but first you must start by being open minded. By letting down your preset shield of protection... you can begin to become a bit more sensitive to your inner being. When you start trusting yourself more.. you will begin to see your intuitiveness grow... Allow your spirit to guide you. God will give you the answers you need to know. The first step begins with you. Trust your instinct and start to see more than you could have ever thought or imagined. Intuition - Do you have it?

When traveling you get to experience the way people live in different areas around the globe. It never ceases to amaze me how people go with the flow of the surroundings where they chose to live. Places like New York City or Miami are filled with fast paced people rushing and going non stop to get to their destination. Then there are places like the country sides of Kentucky or the snow covered mountains in Europe.... where people and their daily activities seem to go at a much slower speed.... This is what we call the game of life. As humans we sometimes go with the flow because we have become accustomed to our surroundings and the culture that makes us who we are... We go, go, go and go without stopping. Trying to reach what we think is our desired goal... But many times we are running around without a true meaning, cause or vision for our life. We follow the crowd and get caught up in what is going on around us and we forget to focus on what is going on in our life. It is important for us from time to time to step away from our everyday hussel and bussel. We need to view our life from a another perspective. This may help us to see why we do things that we do... the good and the bad... We are all playing in the big game of life... It is up to you on how you play the game... Trust your spirit and you will come out on top!

Meditation Guidelines!

Meditation is important for your spirit, mind, body and overall health.... Some people actually do not know how to meditate. It is crucial to allow your body to have the break that it needs to heal. Taking a little time out of your schedule each day to regroup and refresh your body restores positive energy to your whole physical being.

Meditation can be done at any place and at any time. It is up to you to decide. Just find a quiet place away from all distractions... While in bed... or on the floor... sit on the porch... anywhere that you can allow yourself a few moments of peace and silence... When you are alone close your eyes and take a deep breath... Try to clear your mind of all of the distractions that are surrounding you... Just let everything go for the moment... Take in silence and know that you are in complete control of your life and everything that happens to you... Clear your mind and allow God's spirit to fill you and push out all of those unwanted stresses that weigh you down.... Taking time for yourself is healthy for the spirit, mind and body.... There are many ways to meditate... Try a method that relaxes and refreshes you.... Meditation works ... Give your self a break and try it... You deserve to be happy! =)

While away on my summer travels I have been reminded to ... "think before you speak"! I found myself complaining about so many little details in my life ... What time do I have to be there? When do I have to do that? Where am I? Who is responsible for that? Why did I do this? There are moments when we tend to say things on the spur of the moment before we really think about what we are saying. We allow our self to be become overloaded with so many distractions that we forget to look at the full scope of what is going on around us... We must always be aware of our surroundings ... More importantly is what message we may be conveying to others... So the next time you get consumed with all of the those little nuisances in your life and you start grumbling to yourself... take a minute to reflect... refocus and just breath... Our life on earth is to short to waste time on complaining... God wants us to use our energy and spirit in a positive way... It's ok to be vocal from time to time... Just "think before you speak"!

Tough Times!

Tough Times! We all experience them... In today's world so many complications can tend to bring us down and consume our energy.... The economy... family .... work ... friends ... relationships ... even the family pet ... If we listen to our spirit and allow God to guide us we can regain our energy.... We sometimes fight our natural power source and want to let our ego take the lead role in our life.... This is easy to do.... But when we allow spirit to take control amazing things can happen.... Let's face it life has many twists and turns... but if we take the time to meditate and focus on the positives and not the negatives in our life .... We will be able to reconnect to our power source and glide right through the turbulence. Don't allow your pride to guide you in life's journey... Trust your spirit to get you through the tough times!

Moving Forward! =)

The drive to move forward in life can sometimes be very hard.... To many things come our way that bog or weight us down so we feel that we can't push ahead.... In order for us to go forward sometimes we must take a few steps backwards... It is important to take a moment to reevaluate our situation in life when we feel stuck and are not moving in any direction. Look at your life and study the small details you may be overlooking... The tiny obstacles that we sometimes forget to pay attention to may be the major source of why we are not moving forward.... Make sure to evaluate how you are approaching new adventures in life.... What do want to achieve? How far do you want to go? Is it worth your time and effort? You are at the wheel ... and you have control of how fast or slow you go... If you find yourself at a dead end.... Back up and change your direction... By allowing God's Spirit to guide you ...soon you will be moving forward! Peace!

RESPECT! How do we get it? We earn it ... that is how! Have you ever felt like you never get any cooperation or understanding from others in your life? It may be an annoying family member... a pesky neighbor.. a overbearing spouse.... Many times we demand or expect others to agree with us. Even if we know that a situation may not be in someone else's best interest. The fact of the matter is that we all like to have others agree with us on important issues in life... but there are on occasion when others may not fully agree with your outlook or view... That is ok... We all have the right to take control of our feelings and own them. Not everyone will always be in agreement with you. It is important for us from time to time to evaluate our attitude. The next time a moment in your life seems to be a bit out of control and no one seems to be listening to you... take a second to step back and look at how you are going about your approach... If we come across as too controlling or only concerned about our best interest maybe it is time to double check the way we are going about a task. When we trust in the spirit to guide us we can learn how to respect our self and others. Earning RESPECT is like a treasure... when we receive it ... it can be worth all its weight in gold!
