LIFE IS A THEATER! - REPOST

Hello Everyone! I wanted to do a re-post of the importance of surrounding our self with people that encourage and make us feel energized and not drained while on our spiritual journey.... This holiday season and as we look forward to a New Year..... Make a change in your life! Reconnect to God and Refresh your Spirit! Sincere Peace!

LIFE IS A THEATER
"Invite Your Audience Carefully
Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives.
There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a DISTANCE.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of, or at least
minimize your time with, draining, negative, incompatible,
not-going-anywhere relationships/friendships.
Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention.
Which ones lift and which ones lean?
Which ones encourage and which ones discourage?
Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill?
When you leave certain people do you feel better or feel worse?
Which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know or appreciate you?
The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love and truth around you...the easier it will become for you to decide who gets to sit in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of Your Life.
"If you cannot change the people around you, CHANGE the people you are around."
Remember that the people we hang with will have an impact on both our lives and our income. And so we must be careful to choose the people we hang out with, as well as the information with which we feed our minds.
We should not share our dreams with negative people, Nor feed our dreams with negative thoughts.
It's your choice and your life..... It's up to you who and what you let in it......"

Tackle Holiday Stress! =0

Tackle Holiday Stress! =0 It is that time of year and for many people the stress level goes up tremendously! If you are the type of person who does not do well under any type of pressure especially during the holidays ... the following is a list of helpful tips to help you keep your cool this holiday season! Enjoy this time of the year and allow your spirit to grow! Take time for your self and let God handle the stress!

10 Tips To Tackle Holiday Stress And Sleep WellBy Glenda Sparling

The following 10 tips are offered to help you maintain your sanity:

1. Normal Routine. Try to keep to your normal routine as much as possible. That means going to bed as close to your regular time and rising at around the same time each day. Of course, this will be challenging on party nights, but try to keep these to a minimum.

2. Plan Ahead. If you've got company coming, try to alleviate some of your 'last-minute stress' by purchasing groceries, gifts or even doing advanced food preparation ahead of time. Get the gifts wrapped. That was always my job and mom loved it that it was one less thing she needed to do.

3. Regular Exercise. Exercise is one of the precursors to achieving good sleep. Besides, it's just simply healthy for you. Try to maintain your regular routine. Hit the gym or at least get out for a walk. You mind will be refreshed and your body thankful, and you will sleep better.

4. Ask for Help. The holiday festivities don't need to be your total responsibility. Ask family members to assist in the preparations. If you don't ask, they may not know how stressed and burdened you feel. And, there is a very good chance they will be very receptive to pitching in to make this a joyous time for all. Enlist your family to clean and decorate the house, wrap the gifts and prepare the meals.

5. Reduce Caffeine. Keep your caffeine intake to a bare minimum or not at all. Caffeine can have a very long half-life, particularly in those who sleep lightly to begin with. Adding caffeine to increased stress levels is a sure-fire way to disrupt your sleep even more.

6. Watch your Alcohol Intake. Alcohol, even in small quantities, can induce a false sense of sleepiness. But falling into an alcohol-induced sleep state will be anything but satisfying. Your slumber will be restless and it is doubtful you will enter deep delta sleep, which is needed for that energized feeling the next day.

7. Water - Drink Lots. Dehydration can be your worst enemy, particularly if you are having more than your usual amount of alcohol. Make sure your body is well hydrated with at least 8 - 10 8-oz. cups per day. Water makes up 85% of your blood, 80% of your muscles, and 75% of your brain. Make sure you don't dry out.

8. Be kind to Yourself. Before your shoulders end up bunched up into your ears, seeming never to get unstuck, reward yourself and take a break. Plan a relaxing massage, facial or manicure. A massage is great for you guys too.

9. Breathe Deeply. Diaphragmatic breathing is an excellent way to induce relaxation throughout your entire body. Test whether you are a chest or belly breather by putting one hand on your chest and one on your belly. Look down as you breathe (normally). Whichever hand rises first indicates your normal breathing pattern. Most people are 'chest' breathers by habit. Just for 5 minutes focus breathing letting your diaphragm rise first. Your breathing will be slow and deeper. Even 5 minutes of deep belly breathing will induce relaxation. Plus it simply relaxes you and feels good.

10. Talk to your Brain. After you've done some deep diaphragmatic breathing (this really helps to relax you), then have a chat with your brain. Tell it you will sleep soundly tonight. Tell it you deserve a restful peaceful night.

The mind-body connection is really significant. Make use of this amazingly powerful tool. Practice these behaviors and you will sleep soundly and have pleasant dreams of sugarplums and Christmas Kringle making everything just right and come visit http://thespiritofsleep.com for more useful information on sleep.

FACES OF JUDGEMENT!

Hello Everyone! There are times when we are confronted with many faces of judgement while on our spiritual walk... There are moments when others and on occasion we may find our self in a position to press our own opinions upon someone else... Before we do this we must pause for a moment and do our research.. God uses people to do His work in many different ways... We may not always agree or understand...But we must remember God has a reason for everything. It is our responsibility to listen to the Spirits leading. The following is short list of judgement quotes from www.thinkexist.com . Open your mind and hearts and let God be the judge... Sincere Peace!

“It is just as cowardly to judge an absent person as it is wicked to strike a defenseless one. Only the ignorant and narrow-minded gossip, for they speak of persons instead of things.”
Lawrence G. Lovasik

“We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It's one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it's another to think that yours is the only path.”

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.”
Ambrose Redmoon

Mother Teresa

“It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else's eyes.”
Sally Field quotes (American Actress, b.1946)

Nancy Lopez quotes

“I have long since come to believe that people never mean half of what they say, and that it is best to disregard their talk and judge only their actions”
Dorothy Day quotes (American reformer, Journalist and Founder of the Catholic Worker. 1897-1980)

“I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed: and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I fail and keep trying.”
Tom Hopkins quotes (American best selling author known as the world's leading sales trainer.)

“Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.”
Bob Packwood quotes

“Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it”

The Rules of Being Human!

Greetings Everyone! Have you ever thought about rules for being human? ... Why, How, When, Who, What and Where.... questions about why we do what we do on our spiritual journey? I am sure we have all thought at one time or another about what makes our body tick.... The fact of the matter is God created each of us as creative individuals and it is the Spirit that brings us to life. I would like to share the following list of rules of being human compiled by West Hartford Counseling Center. Open your mind and heart and enjoy!

The Rules of Being Human

You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for as long as you live. How you take care of it or fail to take care of it can make an enormous difference in the quality of your life.

You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time, informal school called Life. Each day, you will be presented with opportunities to learn what you need to know. The lessons presented are often completely different from those you think you need.

There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error and experimentation. You can learn as much from failure as you can from success. Maybe more.

A lesson is repeated until it is learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it (as evidenced by a change in your attitude and ultimately your behavior) then you can go on to the next lesson.

Learning lessons does not end. There is no stage of life that does not contain some lessons. As long as you live there will be something more to learn.

“There” is no better than “here”. When your “there” has become a “here” you will simply discover another “there” that will again look better than your “here.” Don’t be fooled by believing that the unattainable is better than what you have.

Others are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself. When tempted to criticize others, ask yourself why you feel so strongly.

What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you create with those tools and resources is up to you. Remember that through desire, goal setting and unflagging effort you can have anything you want. Persistence is the key to success.

The answers lie inside of you. The solutions to all of life’s problems lie within your grasp. All you need to do is ask, look, listen and trust yourself.

Holiday Madness! =0 - "TAKE A BREAK!"

Holiday Madness! As we enter the hussel and bussel of this upcoming holiday season remember to pace yourself! It is important to take time for you! We have all experienced the insanity that the pressures of the holiday season can put upon us.... The Gatherings! The Office Parties! The shopping lists (that never seem to end)! The annoying crowds! Lines at the malls or local shopping centers that go on an on!.... I think you get the picture! Ha! Make sure you allow your self to step back from all of the excitement of the season and take little moments alone... These little moments should be periods of time to just relax and reflect on the positive in your life.... Make these time frames special for you... It may be just taking time alone to enjoy a nice mug of hot chocolate or a cup of holiday tea.... Whatever it may be ... Just do it for you! Know that You deserve it and your Spirit will be refreshed! Take a break from the Holiday Madness! =)

SIMPLE MEDITATION!

Hello Everyone! The following is an article that I came across of the subject of Simple Meditation.... by Becky Jonson .. Take time to meditate to relieve your everyday stress and streghthen your Spirit! Enjoy and Peace to you all! Dave =)

Relieve Stressful Everyday Living with Simple Meditation
Sick of Stressful Living? Simple Meditation is the Answer
Becky Jonson, Yahoo! Contributor Network

" Meditation Real Simple Stressful Day Meditation Techniques .Stress is an everyday problem in society today. With more and more people suffering from it any way to reduce this stress must be a positive thing. This can be achieved through the art of meditation.
Your probably imagining a group of people sat around "hummmm"ing but it should be a very personal, relaxing enjoyable time. With just a few minutes practise every day you can achieve better peace of mind and reduced stress.

Meditation requires that for the time you are doing it, you are completely concentrating on yourself. You cannot do it whilst your making yourself a sandwich or as the kids are getting ready for school, however, if you can make the time starting at just 5 minutes per day and gradually building up to an hour over time you will be amazed at how much relaxed and calm you are.

The actual practise of Meditation most people find very difficult. We live in a society where we are constantly "on the go" and it is almost frowned upon to be sat not doing anything for an hour. Because of this our minds are jumping from one issue to the next attempting to constantly solve all our problems. In meditation you will notice that you have so much time to think your thoughts may become repetitive. Just clear your thoughts and concentrate on what you are doing.

Begin your meditation by concentrating on breathing deeply. As you breathe in through your nose notice how it feels as it draws down into your lungs and back out again. Focusing on your breathing like this should instantly make you feel more relaxed.

If you are having trouble focusing and your mind is continuing to jump from one thought to the next you may want to try this as well. Light a large candle in front of yourself and with the lights dimmed or off stare into the flame as you slowly breathe. This gives you something to look at and concentrate on.

Alternatively if you are young and without adult assistance or you would rather try something different you can choose to repeat a mantra. This is simply any word repeated silently to yourself as you meditate. Visualize the word in your mind.

Remember that all of these techniques you are not going to be able to instantly master over night. Most people find the real difficulty comes from having to shut off their mind from the outside world and finding the
time to do it. Don't become frustrated with yourself if you notice this just employ the techniques listed and keep practising. Gradually build up your sessions over time and you will soon start to see the benefits and how a few minutes less stressed can make your entire day more enjoyable. "

WHERE CAN I CHECK MY BAGS?

"Deal With Your Baggage".... Last spring I had the privilege of attending an Emotional Wellness Class instructed by a close friend of mine. The time spend together in the session brought back many memories of good times and not so good times in my personal life... In our quest for self improvement we can sometimes find our spirit disconnected to the world around us. God places people in our life for a reason. It is up to us to choose how we welcome those people to join us on our spiritual journey. People will come and go.... We may visit places far and beyond we could ever imagine, but a true friend remains with us for a lifetime.... I know that on my spiritual journey I want to take with me the important things I will need..... that includes the cherished people around me.... The rest of the baggage that life throws our way can be dealt with... It is up to you how much you want to carry! As for me...the less... the better... "Where can I check my bags?!" =)

RELAX! REJUVENATE AND RECONNECT!

Are you the kind of person that finds it hard to relax? Are you a just sit back and kick your feet up kind of person? AHHHHHHH! Its nice to relax and just forget everything...Mmmmmmm. Well, not everyone can simply do this... sometimes it is difficult for certain people to let loose and let go.. It is important that we learn to stop and let yourself fall apart... No.. not a nervous breakdown.. but a regrouping period... Take time to meditate by focusing on what makes you happy... Find a quite time and place.... sit back and remember the 3 R's ... RELAX! REJUVENATE AND RECONNECT!... Allow your Spirit to reach out of your body and connect to the world around you... Be at peace and center yourself and know that God is your light source.... Don't focus on the negative things in your life (negativity brings negativity) ... instead focus on the positive! Take a deep breath and know that you are doing well and your spirit will reward you! Remember... You are in control of your life... so take a break and Relax! Rejuvenate and Reconnect! Its all good! =)

Meditation Relaxes the Spirit and Mind

Hello to Everyone! I find myself at times needing to relax my Spirit and Mind.... It is important on our Spiritual journey to allow ourselves to regroup and heal our body, mind and spirit. God gives us the tools to do this.... we must take control and care for ourselves so we are healthy for the journey that is in store for us.... The following is an article about Meditation and how it relaxes the Spirit and the Mind.....

Meditation Can Relax Your Mind and Spirit

"Meditation is becoming more obvious to people on a worldwide scale. The method of meditation can truly heal your inner mind and bring your entire body at peace. Its not longer ok to just go through your daily activities without meditation. Meditation can actually bring you peace and offer you hope for the future. Sometimes you may look at your life and wonder why you were called to a specific task. In meditation, you lean to channel your energies in such a way that will bring hope to you and to those that surround you on a daily basis. Meditation actually allows you to feel connected to those that are not around you right now and perhaps those that are in back of you. Open your heart to meditating today so that you can see how it will change your life.

The first step in learning how to meditate is to find a comfortable and quiet place that you can truly enjoy. Many people like places by the beach or bodies of water because it is extremely relaxing and enjoyable. If you are the shy type, then you may want to find a nice quiet place in your home. It must be away from children and from other distractions such as: pets, sirens, television, radios and anything else that may be a distraction.

When you first begin to meditate, you must first close your eyes and ask God to bless you. Ask God to bring anything to you that He would like for you to see. You must be open to whatever it is that God has for you so that you will not block God's true path for your life. The next step is to allow your mind to wonder with your eyes closed. Think about anything and everything that you want to think about. The secret here is to keep your eyes closed the entire time during your meditation session so that you will not be distracted by anything that may come near or around you.

Some people think that meditation is being able to levitate off of the ground or to do some other sort of magical thing. However, meditation is really a relaxation of the mind. It helps people to understand themselves better and to open their eyes to anything that may be coming there way that can help them later on in their life with life's accomplishments. You have to be open to meditation in order to understand it better.

The last step in meditation is to figure out how long you want to meditate. You may start out with just a 15 minutes session and then later on increase it. Many Buddhist monks have been known to meditate for hours on end. They train themselves daily to meditate and to find their inner peace. It's important for you to do this since you need to stay focused for a particular period of time. During your meditation, think about anything and pray to God. Ask Him to help you to find your way through life and be open to whatever his responses are to you.

After your meditation session is over with, read some spiritual material that you can learn from. Read something that will bring you to a higher point in your life. Allow your mind to connect with things that surround you daily. Remember that inside of yourself, you are truly all spirit and you have a soul. You must remember that your body is only temporary, but what live inside of you, will last forever..."

SMILES ARE CONTAGIOUS! =)

Did you ever think of your smile as contagious? Well it can be! Much like laughter a smile can start an emotional energy that can spread like wild fire from one person to the next. I am sure you can think of a situation where you were not feeling so great and someone gave you a quick glance and a happy grin. =) A true smile can be worth its weight in gold... You know the kind... The one that leaves you beaming from ear to ear.... Not the forced grit you teeth kind that we all sometimes put on to make others happy... but a true genuine real happy go lucky one that would make the whole world want to smile with you.... So start the day off by smiling! It will make you feel better.... Some people may wonder what you are up too,,,, but their spirit may be lifted and so will yours... Remember smiles are contagious! =)

DEPRESSION AND THE DARK SIDE

There are many of us who suffer or at some point have suffered from depression.... The darkness that comes along with depression can be consuming and very inviting to those who are in the grips of this dark disease.... Many times medication is used to counteract or alleviate some of the pains that came with this serious medical condition. Depression leads the spirit to very dark places and sometimes will make it very hard for someone seeking away out to escape. It is very important to seek out professional help as well as spiritual help if you or someone you know is in a deep dark battle with this serious and sometimes fatal condition.... God wants us to be healthy on our spiritual walk and sometimes that means we need ask for help to lead us back to the light. When we go to the dark places such as sadness and loss of interest or mood changes ... our spirit gets weak. During this weak time our energy can be taken away and broken.... leaving us vulnerable to the darkness of the world around us and it will start to consume us.... We must try our best to stand strong and reach out for help...even though it may not be easy. There are many people who understand and know the darkest pain that easily becomes comfort zone in our time of need... Trust and know that God is stronger than any darkness and the light will always brighten the darkness of days... If you feel like you are slipping into the dark side of Depression.... Reach out with every fiber of your soul... Your spirit will be lifted because God understands a faintly beating heart.... You are not alone... Trust me when I say I understand!

NERVES! BUTTONS THAT LIKE TO BE PUSHED!

I am sure that many times in your daily journey through life you feel the pressure of someone or something pressing on your "nerve" button... =) You know what I mean.... Maybe you woke up late and the kids are fighting and running around the house... or the dog left you a nice surprise in the middle of the night.... Maybe you forgot to pay a bill and now you have no electric or water.... Ok.. I am sure by now you have created a list in your head that could on and on... Nerves have away of controlling us... like many other unexpected situations that come our way.... The fact of the matter is .. "Life Happens"! There will always be something in our life that will push are button(s) and put us in not such a good mood.... But we must realize that we have control over how we handle the little nuisances that tend to bug us on a daily basis.. Yes, we may not have complete control over what happens.. but we do have control over how we choose to view and react to an unpleasant irritation... The next time you find your buttons being pushed... take a minute and remove yourself... even if it is just in your mind... Remember to trust in the Spirit and know that God will relieve you of any pressure that comes into your life... Believe in yourself! Nerves are just Buttons that like to be Pushed! =0

BEING ALONE! THE GOOD AND NOT SO GOOD!

Have you ever felt alone? Like no one in the world understands what you are going through? As if you have come to the end of your rope and you are hanging on by a thread? Sound familiar? The emptiness we sometimes feel inside can leave us completely and utterly at a loss. We could be in a room surrounded by friends and family who care. Yet we feel alone. We sometimes search for ways to fill the void of loneliness in life... Either by eating (or not eating), shopping and spending way to much money on things we do not need or can afford... Isolating our self from the world around us... Over medicating with drugs/food and other not so healthy substitutes to make take away the space that longs to be filled... I am not saying that being alone is a complete downer... It also can have its pluses as well... Being alone can give a person time to restore, heal, refresh their body, mind and soul. Not to mention the tranquility that comes from the peace and silence. It is important understand why and where are loneliness comes from... When we know the cause and effect of loneliness in our life... we can then ask God and the Spirit to give us the knowledge to look at the alone times in our life with the right perspective. It is all how you perceive it.... Being Alone! Good and not so good!

Be Honest! Look in the mirror! - REPOST!

Be Honest! Look in the mirror! What do you see? Beauty? Sadness? Anger? Ugly? Disgust? Happiness? Perfection? Whatever it may be that you see is a reflection of what is on the inside. When we are displeased with what is happening in our life it usually appears that way on the outside.... Unless you are a good actor, but sooner or later the truth will show itself.....

The war of life has a way of leaving us with battle scares.... Some small and some very large. God wants us to be happy with who we are.... yes, things may not go the way we would like them to go in life, but there is a reason for everything that happens. It is up to us how we look at our self. With the Spirit's help we can ask for God's direction to guide us to look beyond the physical.... Appearance is important to many people, but what is on the inside spiritually is what truly counts.... The outside is a reflexion on what is on the inside.... Be Honest! Look in the mirror! What do you see? Peace within can bring the true beauty out! Know and Accept that you are beautiful today! =)
